AEW’s resident powerhouse, Will Hobbs, is back, and he’s got a bone to pick. After five months off due to a leg injury, Hobbs returned with all the pent-up fury of a wrestling veteran scorned. On Wednesday night, Hobbs shocked fans as Ricochet’s surprise tag partner in a main event showdown against Callis Family’s Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher.

And Hobbs wasted no time venting on social media, unleashing a storm of grievances directed at Don Callis and his so-called “family.” “Five months, man. Five months of being disrespected. No phone call. No email. Not even a text. Not even a get well gift,” he fumed. Clearly, Callis’ version of “family” is about as warm and inviting as a tax audit.

If Callis thought Hobbs was flying solo, he was dead wrong. Hobbs pointed to his new allies: former International Champion Will Ospreay, ex-ROH World Tag Team Champion Mark Davis, and high-flying phenom Ricochet. Each of these men has their own reasons to want a piece of Callis and his cronies. Ospreay, for instance, lost his AEW International Championship thanks to some well-timed interference from Fletcher, who now sports a buzz cut that screams, “I’ve left my past behind and joined a questionable wrestling family.”

Though Hobbs and Ricochet managed to secure a win, the Callis Family responded with a vicious post-match ambush, only to be thwarted when Davis and Ospreay stormed the ring. The alliance may be new and possibly temporary, but one thing’s clear—Hobbs and his crew are ready for war.
