The tension in AEW just got cranked up to eleven as Swerve Strickland issued a high-stakes challenge to Bobby Lashley during the latest episode of AEW Dynamite. It was a power move only a few could pull off, and it instantly set the stage for what’s now one of the most highly anticipated matches of Full Gear.
The show opened with Tony Schiavone introducing the newly formed Hurt Syndicate, who strode down the ramp with all the confidence of a crew that didn’t need an introduction. MVP, always ready to steal the spotlight, dismissed Schiavone and grabbed the mic to introduce “The Standard of Excellence” Shelton Benjamin and “The Almighty” Lashley, hyping Lashley’s MMA victories and impressive championship legacy. Then he threw out a warning to AEW: turning down the Hurt Syndicate comes with consequences.
Enter Swerve Strickland. After weeks of building resentment, Strickland charged down the ramp, practically foaming at the mouth, and demanded a match with Lashley at Full Gear. Security held Strickland back as MVP coolly accepted on behalf of “The Almighty,” making it clear Lashley’s answer was already set in stone. With a final stare-down, Strickland and Lashley set the arena ablaze with anticipation, marking the start of a clash that’s bound to be one for the ages.
Full Gear – Card So Far
In addition to Strickland vs. Lashley, AEW’s Full Gear card is stacking up fast: Jon Moxley is set to defend his World Championship against Orange Cassidy, and Mercedes Mone will put her TBS title on the line against Kris Statlander. This is looking like a lineup you won’t want to miss!
