In today’s shocking development of people believing literally anything they see online, former WWE star CJ Perry took to Instagram to clear up a spicy little rumor. Apparently, the internet decided that a friendly photo of Perry with WWE’s own Damian Priest meant wedding bells, undying love, and matching leather jackets in their future. Perry, however, was quick to laugh off this alleged romance.
“No, I am not dating Damian Priest,” she stated, before adding, “That was a funny internet rumor.” Yes, folks, Perry just confirmed that sometimes men and women are—brace yourselves—just friends.
Fans were quick to speculate after Perry shared a casual snap with Priest earlier this year, which naturally spiraled into full-fledged relationship theories because, well, the internet is nothing if not creative. But Perry set the record straight: she’s got male friends, and it doesn’t mean she’s doing a couple’s Halloween costume with every single one of them.
The livestream did serve up one interesting nugget, though: Perry is mulling over the idea of launching her very own podcast. And, as if on cue, a fan suggested Priest as a potential co-host. Perry chuckled at the idea, saying the WWE star’s charisma would make him an excellent choice, but she didn’t confirm anything. That’s right, folks, the only thing that’s “official” here is Perry’s podcast dreams—and maybe Priest’s podcast potential.
Now, for those following her personal saga, Perry was married to AEW’s Miro, a man who was last seen doing his best impression of a ghost in 2024, not a wrestling ring. Their on-screen romance famously lit up WWE, but after moving to AEW, their storyline flickered out like a broken lightbulb. Despite reportedly separating last year, Miro remains firmly with AEW, though with about as much screen time as Bigfoot sightings. Word on the street is that Miro recently asked to exit AEW in September, but he’s still there—at least technically.
So, CJ Perry and Damian Priest aren’t a thing (unless they are, but they’re not). And if a podcast is indeed on the horizon, fans will have yet another platform to overanalyze every platonic interaction. Stay tuned!
