Folks, let me tell you, the drama on WWE SmackDown last night was unbelievable. Some people are calling it the greatest match between friends since, well, probably ever. You had Bayley, you had Naomi, and you had a match that was as topsy-turvy as a Saturday night at a hometown chili cook-off.

After last week’s controversial double-pin—you know, the kind where no one really wins but everyone claims they did—we were finally going to get some clarity. Spoiler alert: we didn’t. But that’s beside the point! Bayley faced her “best friend” Naomi for a Number One Contender’s spot for Nia Jax’s WWE Women’s Championship, and what followed was pure chaos.

Let’s Talk About This Match, Folks!

Now, the match began with a little bit of sass—lots of pushing and shoving, like two people fighting over the last cheeseburger at a Labor Day BBQ. Naomi, ever the daredevil, hit an incredible corkscrew plunge over the top rope. It was a thing of beauty. Bayley? Well, she survived—thanks to the magic of commercial breaks, of course. Came back stronger, like I do after a long lunch.

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. Bayley tried to literally flip the script with a sunset flip that had all the grace of a toddler’s first somersault. Didn’t quite hit, but hey, you gotta appreciate the hustle! Twice Naomi kicked out, and twice Bayley probably wondered what she had to do to put her bestie down. Spoiler: a Bayley-to-Belly and a flying elbow did the job. Boom, match over, Bayley’s going to Bad Blood.

Friendship’s Over, Right?

I mean, folks, how do you come back from pinning your best friend in front of millions? That’s a tough call. But let’s be honest, there’s nothing that says “I appreciate our friendship” quite like throwing down for a shot at Nia Jax’s title. Nia Jax, by the way, is waiting like a wrecking ball dipped in glitter and ready to cause some damage at Bad Blood.

Last week, in what we’re calling “The Great Pin Debacle of 2024,” Bayley and Naomi both pinned Jax at the same time, leaving everyone—including probably the referee—confused. So, naturally, they had to fight it out like two siblings fighting for the front seat. And the winner, ladies and gentlemen, is Bayley.

Mark your calendars, because come October 5, it’s going to be Bayley vs. Jax in Atlanta, Georgia, where the peach cobbler is sweet and the wrestling is even sweeter. Will Bayley reclaim her glory, or will Nia Jax turn her into a pancake? Stay tuned.
