Folks, the Best Bout Machine might be dusting off his boots for a huge return to the spotlight. After months of being MIA from AEW due to a brutal betrayal by his former Elite buddies and a nasty battle with diverticulitis, Kenny Omega seems ready to make a big-time comeback—and NJPW just lit the fuse!

In a cryptic video posted by NJPW’s official X account, none other than Hiroshi Tanahashi—the Ace of New Japan himself—looked back on his legendary 2019 Tokyo Dome match against Omega and hinted at something big on the horizon. “I’ve got a lot of mixed emotions,” Tanahashi said, “but I’m curious too. Excited to see him.” The two even had a mini-reunion, meeting in a room and greeting each other like old pals, but with a certain level of unfinished business hanging in the air. The hashtags that followed? Pointing straight toward Wrestle Dynasty, the mega cross-promotion event set for January 5, 2025.

Now, let’s talk health updates. Omega’s been out for a while due to diverticulitis—yep, it’s as painful as it sounds—and back in August, his close friend Michael Nakazawa dropped the bombshell that Kenny had 25 centimeters of his colon removed. The man was so beat up that he was struggling with basic tasks, but Nakazawa also gave us hope, revealing that Omega had started training again and was on the mend.

And now, with NJPW teasing a Wrestle Dynasty reunion, it’s safe to say Kenny’s recovery must be moving faster than a V-Trigger in the Tokyo Dome. Will we see Omega and Tanahashi lock up again, or is something even bigger brewing? One thing’s for sure—January’s event could be one for the history books, and The Cleaner might just be ready to sweep up the competition once more.
