Folks, Jon Moxley isn’t messing around. In a wild main event at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, Moxley not only defeated Darby Allin but also snatched his guaranteed shot at the AEW World Championship. But in classic wrestling fashion, that wasn’t the end of the chaos—it was only the beginning.
After Moxley’s victory, Bryan Danielson wasn’t about to let his former friend bask in the glow of victory. Nope. The AEW World Champion stormed the ring, choked Moxley out with a necktie—a throwback to his 2010 WWE firing for doing the same thing. It was also a little payback for Moxley’s villainous choke-out of Danielson at All Out with a plastic bag.
Marina Shafir rushed to try and pull Danielson off Moxley, but it was full-blown pandemonium when the rest of the Blackpool Combat Club (BCC), including PAC and Claudio Castagnoli, hit the ring and started beating down Danielson. With Moxley catching his breath, the BCC seemed unstoppable—until Private Party’s Zay and Quen, along with Komander, came flying in to even the odds! It was a ringside brawl, but noticeably absent was AEW Trios Champion Wheeler Yuta, who’s been MIA for reasons unknown. Hmm… 🤔
When the dust settled, only Moxley and Danielson were left in the ring. But just as things looked like they’d get even more brutal, Shafir pulled Moxley out of harm’s way. Not one to miss an opportunity for some trash talk, Danielson grabbed the mic and laid it out straight: Moxley wanted war? Now, he’s got it. Bryan Danielson officially declared war on Moxley, promising to kick his former BCC brother’s “f****** a**” at WrestleDream in Tacoma, Washington.
So, here we are—two of AEW’s fiercest competitors on a collision course for WrestleDream. Moxley may have stolen a shot at the title, but Danielson’s ready to make sure it’s a fight to remember.
