Folks, grab your popcorn because two former WWE Tag Team Champions, Primo and Epico Colon, are heading to NWA Powerrr! That’s right, the Colón family is bringing their wrestling royalty to the National Wrestling Alliance on October 5 and 6. Tampa, FL, get ready for some serious wrestling heat.

In a move that will surely shake up NWA’s tag team division, Primo and Epico are making their NWA debut at the tapings at WEDU Studios, the home of… PBS. Yes, you read that right—wrestling at a PBS affiliate. Between Sesame Street and history documentaries, we’ve now got suplexes, and honestly, I’m here for it.

For those of you not keeping track, Primo and Epico are no strangers to gold, having reigned as WWE Tag Team Champions during their long tenure from 2012 to 2020. After parting ways with WWE during the COVID-19 shuffle, they returned to their native Puerto Rico and found a new home in their father Carlos Colón’s WWC promotion. Because when wrestling is in your blood, you never truly stop piling up titles.

NWA National Promoter Bryan Idol is already hyping this as a huge win for the company. He said in a press release, “Bringing veterans like Primo and Epico to the National Wrestling Alliance — and having a world-traveled duo like this in our locker room — is a tremendous addition to NWA’s already stacked tag team division.” With those kinds of words, you can already picture NWA’s tag team scene quaking in its boots.

And while Primo and Epico are hitting the NWA circuit, their cousin Carlito is currently living his best life back in WWE. After making a surprise return at the Backlash pay-per-view in Puerto Rico, Carlito was welcomed back with such fanfare that WWE locked him into a deal faster than you could say “apple spit.” He’s since been jumping around factions, from The LWO to The Judgment Day.

Who will Primo and Epico face in their NWA debut? The mystery’s still out there like a steel chair under the ring, but whoever steps up better be ready. This family brings more than just history; they bring experience, and probably a little bit of that Colón family swagger.
