Well, folks, it seems WWE has pulled a Houdini with Odyssey Jones, and he’s now missing from the company’s official roster page. In a storyline straight out of a soap opera, Jones, who had been causing some friction between New Day buddies Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, might be riding off into the sunset—or at least taking an extended pit stop.

On X (formerly known as Twitter) this Monday afternoon, wrestling insider Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful fame dropped the bombshell: Jones’ profile has mysteriously vanished from WWE’s website. Someone even gave Sapp a heads-up to poke around WWE’s HQ and ask what’s up with Jones. The response from WWE talents? Total shock—like they just saw a ghost. And if that’s not enough, Jones was a no-show at Monday night’s “Raw” tapings, leaving us all scratching our heads. What’s going on, Odyssey? Is this a break, a breakup, or just some clever misdirection?

Let’s rewind a bit. Jones has been getting some screen time lately, thanks to his connection with Woods and Kingston. But here’s the catch—despite his imposing presence and a storyline that seemed to be picking up steam, the 30-year-old has barely wrestled on TV since being drafted to the main roster in spring 2023. He’s been warming up the crowd at house shows and dark matches like an eternal understudy, waiting for his big break. Before August, his last match was during the Road to WrestleMania tour on March 31, where he was soundly beaten by Omos—a fellow giant who’s also been more elusive than Bigfoot lately.

Jones’ journey to WWE was the stuff of underdog dreams. A former offensive lineman for Syracuse, he signed with WWE in 2019 after impressing at a tryout the year before. After grinding it out in training and live events, Jones debuted in “NXT” under his now well-known persona, Odyssey Jones. He even made it to the finals of the 2021 Breakout Tournament before losing to Carmelo Hayes. But it wasn’t all smooth sailing; Jones faced a nine-month setback in 2022 due to a ruptured patellar tendon. And during that downtime, he managed to stir the pot on social media with comments that many labeled as transphobic—definitely not the kind of heat a wrestler wants.

So, what’s the deal with Odyssey Jones? Is he taking a detour, or has his journey in WWE come to an unexpected halt? As of now, his status remains murkier than the bottom of a swamp, and we’re left waiting for the next twist in this real-life wrestling saga.
