In a match that had more tension than a soap opera finale, CM Punk defeated Drew McIntyre in a brutal strap match at WWE Bash In Berlin. And now, “The Best in the World” has made it crystal clear—he’s done playing tug-of-war with McIntyre and is laser-focused on bigger, shinier things. Specifically, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

In a post-match interview with Cathy Kelley, Punk laid out his future plans with the casual confidence of a man who’s just ordered extra sprinkles on his victory donut. “That’s definitely the end of me and Drew McIntyre,” Punk declared. “What’s next for me is I’m going to take a long hot shower, I’m going to try and find some donuts, and I got myself a main event to watch. GUNTHER vs. Randy Orton. And some people like to say, ‘May the best man win.’ In this case, may the best man win because the better man is coming for you. I want the gold. I’m coming for you, sucka.”

Well, folks, the main event saw GUNTHER squeeze the life out of Orton—figuratively speaking, of course—to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship. And now, it seems Punk has his eyes locked on the prize like a hawk eyeing its prey. But, let’s not forget, rivalries in WWE are like bad pennies—they keep coming back. McIntyre might have something to say about Punk moving on so swiftly, especially since their feud is tied at one win apiece.

Some industry insiders are already stirring the pot, with hardcore legend Tommy Dreamer predicting a potential blow-off match between Punk and McIntyre inside Hell in a Cell. Will it happen? Only time—and tomorrow night’s episode of “WWE Raw”—will tell. One thing’s for sure: wherever CM Punk goes, drama is never far behind.

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
