In the ever-dramatic world of professional wrestling, the rumor mill is churning out a spicy update: AEW’s high-flying Lucha Brothers, Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo, might soon be packing their masks and heading to WWE! According to WrestlePurists, the dynamic duo is not expected to renew their AEW contracts when they expire, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.

WrestlePurists’ very own Ibou dropped this bombshell during their post-SummerSlam livestream. The news has sent shockwaves through the wrestling community, especially considering the immediate impact on AEW’s All In pay-per-view. Originally, the Lucha Brothers were set to team up with Death Triangle buddy PAC to face The Patriarchy for the World Trios Championship at Wembley Stadium. But with their AEW exit looming, that match has been tossed out faster than a luchador over the top rope. Instead, fans can expect a triple threat trios title match featuring The Patriarchy, the Bang Bang Gang, and House of Black. Although not officially announced, the feud between these teams has been heating up on AEW programming.

“When the [All In] match got canceled, I asked around internally … multiple sources within AEW told me, basically made it clear to me, that the Lucha Brothers are expected to depart AEW at the end of their contract,” Ibou revealed. “Some of them speculated that WWE was the destination, others outright said to me that it was a formality.”

Reports have been swirling that WWE has had its eyes on Penta for a while, with his contract set to expire in the next two months. While there hasn’t been much chatter about WWE’s interest in Fenix, it’s speculated that his recent injury might have extended his AEW contract, paving the way for WWE to scoop up both brothers as a package deal.

Will the Lucha Brothers bring their gravity-defying moves to WWE’s squared circle? Or is this just another chapter in wrestling’s endless saga of speculation? Stay tuned, because this story is hotter than a summer slam!
