With Bloodline Rules in full effect, WWE SummerSlam’s main event was set to be a chaos-filled spectacle, and it delivered in spades. Despite hints from WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson about Cody Rhodes having plenty of allies, the real shocker of the night was the unexpected return of “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns, who came back to aid his WrestleMania 40 rival in retaining the Undisputed WWE Title against Solo Sikoa.

The match initially swung in Sikoa’s favor when Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa interfered, turning the tide against Rhodes. However, Rhodes’ allies, Randy Orton and Kevin Owens, stormed in to neutralize the threat, battling the former Guerrillas of Destiny into the crowd and out of the equation. “The Samoan Werewolf” Jacob Fatu then made his presence felt, viciously attacking Rhodes and smashing him through the announce table. In the chaos, Fatu seemingly injured himself, leaving Rhodes vulnerable and Sikoa on the brink of capturing the championship.

Just when it seemed all hope was lost for Rhodes, Roman Reigns’ music hit the speakers, evoking memories of WCW’s Bash at the Beach 1996. Michael Cole’s commentary added to the suspense, questioning Reigns’ intentions and allegiances. The uncertainty didn’t last long, as Reigns swiftly delivered a Superman Punch and a Spear to Sikoa. A bewildered Rhodes took advantage, delivering a Cross Rhodes to Sikoa and securing the pin, all while wearing a look of utter disbelief.

Reigns’ unexpected assist leaves the WWE Universe buzzing with questions and anticipation for the fallout from SummerSlam.
