Hold onto your barbells, folks! In a twist as surprising as a steel chair to the back, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry’s offspring, Jacob Henry, just body-slammed us with some major news. Announced during Mark’s DJ set at the Remix Rumble in Cleveland, Ohio (because apparently, strongmen also drop sick beats), Jacob spilled the beans on his WWE signing.
With the crowd hotter than a SummerSlam undercard, Jacob grabbed the mic and the moment, saying, “The crowd is out here tonight, you seem pretty lively. I think it’s time, I think it’s time for people to know. For those who don’t know, I’ll tell you what’s going on in my life. I am a collegiate wrestler at the University of Oklahoma. But, some big news that will come out in the next couple of days [crowd starts chanting NXT]. I think you guys should be the first to know that I’m going to be a future superstar and it’s been put on paper. I have officially signed a deal with the WWE.”
Jacob, who’s been racking up athletic achievements faster than a referee’s three-count, has now added a WWE contract to his resume. This multi-sport marvel, who squatted a staggering 610 pounds last year, has been splitting his time between wrestling, football, and track & field. Clearly, he’s inherited more than just his dad’s penchant for power moves and flashy entrances.
While Cleveland buzzes with SummerSlam fever, speculation is rife about whether the young Henry’s announcement will get a premium live event spotlight. Meanwhile, Mark Henry, recently freed from his AEW commitments, has been moonlighting in WWE-affiliated projects, perhaps paving the way for his son’s meteoric rise.
