In a surprising twist, CM Punk has lashed out at AEW for airing the notorious backstage brawl footage between him and Jack Perry from last year’s All In event at Wembley Stadium. The scuffle, which took place mere moments before Punk’s match against Samoa Joe for the “Real” AEW World Championship, was revived on “AEW Dynamite” in April, sparking controversy and raising eyebrows as Punk is now strutting his stuff with WWE.

Punk, never one to mince words, told “Sports Illustrated,” “It felt really ugly. I was like, why? Showing that footage isn’t going to help them or hurt me. So I was just like, whatever. Being the top draw in two different companies is wild, thanks guys.” In typical Punk fashion, he didn’t hold back, likening AEW’s decision to his current feud with Drew McIntyre. He quipped, “It’s kinda like, I have to wrestle Drew McIntyre, right? This garbage person I don’t want in my life. But this is the fight game, it’s the sh**-talk business.”

Since Punk’s unexpected WWE comeback following his dramatic AEW exit, he’s faced a chilly reception from certain quarters. Notably, his upcoming SummerSlam clash is set to be a fiery affair, with his opponent, Drew McIntyre, and the special guest referee, Seth Rollins, both harboring less-than-friendly feelings towards the “Straight Edge Superstar.” Their explosive confrontation on last week’s “WWE Raw” only added fuel to the fire, promising an intense showdown this Saturday.
