Folks, brace yourselves for some tough news from the world of wrestling. The “Bad Boy” Joey Janela, a former AEW standout and current indie sensation, has been hospitalized due to gallstone pancreatitis. This announcement, made via social media, has his fans and the wrestling community rallying behind him.

Janela shared on X that he has been dealing with severe pain and bouts of vomiting for some time now, but things took a turn for the worse recently. He toughed it out to attend a Limp Bizkit concert (because nothing says dedication like rocking out through the pain), but eventually, he had to check into the hospital.

In his own words: “Well I’ve been in pain for quite a while, worst the past couple days along with insane vomiting. I braved through it to do something at the Limp Bizkit concert and today had to check into a hospital. Turns out I have gallstone pancreatitis, my August schedule is uncertain for the time being, and bills gonna be through the roof. I’ll be trying to get some merch out there, should be in here for a minute.”

This medical emergency means Janela’s much-anticipated appearances in Japan for GCW’s You Only Die Once tour are now up in the air. Scheduled for a five-way match on August 14 against Danhausen, Effy, Broski Jimmy, and Andreza Giant Panda, and a singles match against Marcus Mathers on August 13, Janela’s absence will surely be felt. His last bout was on July 20 at GCW’s Don’t Tell Me What To Do show, where he and Effy lost to Shane Mercer and Blake Christian.

This isn’t the first time Janela has faced health scares; last year, he was hospitalized after suffering burns in a fiery match with Atsushi Onita in Japan. The man has the resilience of a rubber band, bouncing back time and again.

Wishing Joey Janela a speedy recovery and hoping to see him back in the ring soon. Get well, Bad Boy!
