In a twist more explosive than my daily caffeine intake, Monday’s “WWE Raw” delivered a spectacle worthy of popcorn and front-row seats. Drew McIntyre, recently suspended for a tirade that would make a pirate blush, found himself in deeper trouble after another outburst against “WWE Raw” General Manager Adam Pearce.
Let’s rewind a bit. After WWE Money in the Bank, McIntyre’s fury earned him a suspension and a hefty fine, which only increased after he called Pearce a “incompetent bald b****” on social media. Classy, right? Pearce, showing remarkable patience, agreed to meet McIntyre in the ring this week, aiming to smooth things over and set up a blockbuster match between McIntyre and CM Punk for SummerSlam 2024.
Things started off well enough. McIntyre seemed contrite, ready to own up to his actions. But when Pearce asked him to apologize to the referees he’d manhandled during his Money in the Bank meltdown, McIntyre’s mood shifted faster than a teenager’s after curfew. He questioned why he should apologize to referees who he felt had screwed him over, then proceeded to take them out again right there in the ring. Smooth move, Drew.
Pearce, channeling the patience of a saint, upheld McIntyre’s suspension. This didn’t sit well with our Scottish warrior, who got right up in Pearce’s face, looking like he was ready to rearrange it. Enter Seth Rollins. His music hit, and he sprinted to the ring faster than my Wi-Fi drops during a video call. Rollins unleashed a barrage of forearms and a superkick, attempting to finish McIntyre with The Stomp. McIntyre, showing a rare moment of wisdom, rolled out of the ring just in time, narrowly avoiding the final blow.
Security swooped in, escorting McIntyre out while Rollins stood tall in the ring. The stage is now set for even more chaos as SummerSlam approaches. Who needs soap operas when you have WWE drama this good?
