Folks, gather ’round because we’ve got some major news straight from the top of the WWE mountain. The one and only WWE Women’s Champion, Bayley, has made a bold call to bring back the unique, all-women’s PPV event, Evolution. In a recent sit-down with Cody Rhodes on WWE’s YouTube channel, Bayley shared her vision for Evolution 2, and let me tell you, it’s gonna be yuge!
Bayley reminisced about the first Evolution, saying, “So the thing about the first [WWE Evolution] was, we had so many girls from NXT… [and] a lot of women from the past. It was kinda like the first few [Royal] Rumbles because we didn’t have enough women to fill up these matches, but now we do. And I think it would be so cool to give everybody on Raw, everybody on Smackdown, a part [on] that show: Evolution 2.”
Now, let’s take a trip down memory lane. The first WWE Evolution came to life through the #GiveDivasAChance movement, a grassroots campaign that demanded better in-ring time for WWE’s women. Despite being a fan favorite, the original Evolution didn’t exactly break box office records. But hey, Bayley is not one to back down. She believes the roster has grown stronger, more dynamic, and is ready to shine brighter than ever.
Bayley also highlighted WWE’s recent collaboration with TNA, suggesting it could add some exciting matchups to the card. “We just saw Jordynne Grace on NXT,” Bayley gushed. “TNA girls, like whatever that connection is there, we can bring different girls in. You can bring girls in from the past if they’re up for it to do a little something, but we have such a stacked roster right now, where it’s like, we can hold down a show on our own… I think it’s time because it is a different era compared to back then.”
With WWE’s women’s roster at historic levels, featuring talent from “WWE Raw,” “WWE Smackdown,” and “WWE NXT,” the timing couldn’t be better. Bayley’s call to action might just be what WWE needs to give the fans what they want: Evolution 2, a celebration of the incredible women of WWE.
