“WWE Raw” General Manager Adam Pearce has dropped the hammer on CM Punk and Drew McIntyre following their explosive altercation at the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event.
During Saturday’s event, McIntyre, who had earlier claimed victory in the men’s Money in the Bank match, decided to cash in on WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest during his bout with Seth Rollins. The match transformed into a chaotic triple threat, and just when things couldn’t get more intense, CM Punk blindsided McIntyre, choking him with a cable in a shocking attack. Not one to take things lying down, McIntyre ambushed the post-show, even going as far as elbowing General Manager Pearce in a fit of rage.
Ahead of this week’s “Raw,” Pearce announced heavy penalties: both Punk and McIntyre were fined, and McIntyre received an indefinite suspension for his physical altercation with the GM.
“The elephant in the room — everybody saw what happened at Money in the Bank and after. As a result, after careful consideration, I’m hereby fining both CM Punk and Drew McIntyre an undisclosed amount for their actions. Furthermore, due to putting his elbow in my teeth, I’m hereby officially suspending Drew McIntyre indefinitely. More to come tomorrow night live on ‘Raw,'” Pearce declared.
Punk’s last appearance was on the June 21 edition of “WWE SmackDown” in his hometown of Chicago, where McIntyre viciously assaulted him, leaving him bloodied. At Money in the Bank, “The Second City Saint” exacted his revenge, fulfilling his vow to never let McIntyre win a world title. Punk, who hasn’t wrestled since the 2024 Royal Rumble, hinted at an imminent return, revealing in the post Money in the Bank press conference that he feels good and is eager to get back in the ring after recovering from his triceps injury.
