Folks, gather ’round, because I’ve got a tale that’s hotter than a July barbecue in Delaware. Just two days shy of stepping into the ring for the biggest match of his life at WrestleMania, Cody Rhodes encountered a bit of a pickle — and I’m not talking about the kind you find on a sandwich.

In a turn of events that’s more surprising than finding out your quiet neighbor is a karaoke champion, Cody’s tour bus, adorned with the classy logo of Wheatley American Vodka, decided to put on its own pyrotechnics show. Yes, you heard that right, the bus caught fire, folks. But before you start wringing your hands, let me reassure you that thanks to the swift action of the Philadelphia Fire Department, everyone got out safe and sound. It’s like they say, not all heroes wear capes — some wear firefighting gear.

Cody, being the resourceful wrestler he is, managed to grab two mystery items before making his grand exit. And he’s got a sense of humor about it too, teasing that what he saved from the flames would get wrestling fans all riled up. “Before you hear it elsewhere – my tour bus caught fire last night,” Rhodes shared on X. “Everybody is safe and okay. The 2 items I grabbed before I got off will probably pop wrestling fans. Again, thank you @PhillyFireDept.”

Now, with the bus drama behind him, Cody’s turning his attention back to the squared circle, where an even bigger challenge awaits. He’s gearing up to face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, but first, he’s tagging with Seth Rollins to take on Reigns and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Talk about a star-studded lineup that’s as exciting as finding a twenty in an old coat pocket.

If Cody and Seth clinch the win, they’ll keep The Bloodline at bay for the title match. But if Reigns and The Rock come out on top, it’s Bloodline Rules, which means anything goes — including interference that’s as guaranteed as traffic on the I-95.

So, as WrestleMania 40 draws near, with all its drama, athleticism, and now unexpected fire rescue stories, remember that in wrestling, as in life, it’s all about rolling with the punches… or in this case, the flames. Here’s to Cody Rhodes, the Philadelphia Fire Department, and a WrestleMania that’s already heating up before the first bell even rings.

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
