In a dazzling display of wrestling prowess, Mercedes Mone emerged victorious on AEW Dynamite, maintaining her grip on the TBS Championship by defeating Zeuxis, who is part of the CMLL World Women’s Tag Team Champions. Zeuxis’ tag partner, Stephanie Vaquer, who holds the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship, will be Mone’s formidable opponent at the much-anticipated Forbidden Door event.

The bout began with a classic lock-up, both competitors showcasing their submission skills. Zeuxis gained an early advantage, sending Mone out of the ring with a drop toe hold and following up with a spectacular suicide dive, flattening the champ just as the broadcast decided we needed a commercial break. Because who doesn’t love suspense?

Returning from the break, Zeuxis landed a powerful Liger Bomb, but the resilient Mone kicked out. Mone then unleashed a barrage of offense, including a pair of knees in the corner and a meteora. She attempted to channel her inner Eddie Guerrero with the Three Amigos but was cut short by a Lung Blower from Zeuxis.

Despite the setback, Mone rallied, delivering a decisive Mone Maker in the center of the ring to secure her victory. Up next for Mone is a high-stakes clash with Vaquer at Forbidden Door in Long Island on June 30. This title-for-title match promises to be an epic encounter, with both the TBS Championship and the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship on the line.
