Wrestling fans, hold onto your seats—Ricochet’s future with WWE is teetering on the edge of uncertainty. Initial reports suggested that the high-flying superstar was looking to leave WWE this summer, but the latest scoop from wrestling oracle Dave Meltzer indicates that the decision isn’t final yet. According to Figure Four Online, the situation remains fluid, with those close to Ricochet noting that nothing is set in stone.

PWInsider had previously reported that Ricochet had notified WWE of his plans to depart as his five-year contract, signed in 2019, nears its end. This led to speculation that the high-flyer might soon be written out of WWE storylines. Adding fuel to the fire, Ricochet recently lost the WWE Speed Championship to Andrade in a match taped before Friday night’s “WWE SmackDown.” The match, scheduled to air on the X social media platform on June 14, seemed to suggest an impending exit.

However, according to Meltzer, WWE is not ready to let their aerial ace slip away without a fight. Talks about a new deal have been hinted at, though it’s unclear when these negotiations might kick off. Meanwhile, AEW’s Will Ospreay has openly invited Ricochet to consider jumping ship, suggesting that a move to AEW could be a fresh start for the former United States Champion.

Ricochet, who joined WWE in 2016 under the “WWE NXT” banner, has enjoyed a decorated career with stints as North American, Intercontinental, and United States Champion, alongside his recent reign as Speed Champion. His WWE journey has seen high highs and some low lows, including a crushing defeat at the hands of Brock Lesnar in just under two minutes at Super ShowDown 2020 during his sole WWE World title match.
