Fans were eagerly awaiting the fiery continuation of the mentor/mentee feud featuring Toni Storm, Mariah May, Saraya, and Harley Cameron on this week’s “AEW Dynamite.” The excitement was palpable as May and Saraya were slated to clash in a one-on-one match, a tantalizing treat announced on AEW Control Center. But, in a plot twist worthy of a soap opera, the Control Center video mysteriously vanished from YouTube, and Saraya threw a digital tantrum.

In a move that screams “drama queen,” Saraya posted a cryptic message on X (formerly known as Twitter), only to delete it faster than you can say “what just happened?” The post is widely believed to be a reaction to AEW canceling her match with May, which would have marked Saraya’s grand return to singles competition since December 2023. Instead, AEW decided to shuffle the deck, pulling out the wildcard that is Mercedes Mone.

During the broadcast, in a move nobody saw coming (except maybe Tony Khan’s pet iguana), AEW announced Mone’s in-ring debut and TBS Championship defense against Skye Blue. This announcement came right after Blue crashed Mone’s celebration, confessing to a backstage ambush weeks ago. Talk about stealing the spotlight! As the credits rolled, AEW casually mentioned that Saraya vs. May would happen next week. Sure, why not?

This chaotic reshuffling coincided with Bryan Alvarez from The Wrestling Observer spilling the beans that AEW President Tony Khan has been booking shows with the spontaneity of a reality TV star on caffeine. Saraya’s snub and her passive-aggressive online antics, coupled with the abrupt booking of Mone vs. Blue, point to another last-minute play by Khan. Saraya’s last hurrah saw her and Cameron getting bested by Storm and May on last week’s “Dynamite.” Here’s hoping next week’s showdown actually happens, or we might just see another cryptic post from Saraya – and maybe this time it’ll stick around long enough for us to decode it!
