Folks, we’ve got an absolutely historic announcement! The man, the myth, the living meme—John Cena—is about to wrestle in his last-ever Royal Rumble. Yes, that’s right. Cena, the human embodiment of “Never Give Up,” is saying “One Last Time” at WWE’s Royal Rumble in 2025. And he’s going out with a bang in Indianapolis, Indiana. Lucas Oil Stadium better brace itself; it’s about to be packed tighter than the pockets of Cena’s jorts!
John Cena took to X (that’s right, formerly known as Twitter, but still basically Twitter) to make it official, saying, “In 2025, there will be myriad of history-making events…The last time I will ever compete in a Royal Rumble event is February 1, Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana…” He then paused, dramatically, adding, “…and you should hurry up, because after this, you can’t see me.”
And folks, he means it. The Doctor of Thuganomics, the king of five-move finishes, and two-time Royal Rumble champ, is hitting the ring for his final Rumble match. What a career! Cena has been competing in Rumbles since 2003, and in that time, he’s won two, came second twice, and even managed to snag third back in 2018. Talk about staying power.
Fans are buzzing. Will Cena’s “Never Give Up” mantra mean he’ll actually, you know, never give up and win the whole thing? Or will he get thrown out right when he tries his patented “You Can’t See Me” taunt, realizing—oh wait—people can actually see him?
To make sure you witness this final Rumble, better set your alarm for ticket sales this Friday. They’ll be going faster than Cena’s finisher, and you don’t want to miss your last chance to see the man everyone “can’t see.”
