The wrestling world is buzzing with news from the legendary Anoa’i family. For decades, this Samoan dynasty has produced some of WWE’s most iconic stars, including The Wild Samoans, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and current megastar Roman Reigns. Now, another Anoa’i is joining the WWE family: former MLW Tag Team Champion Lance Anoa’i has officially signed with WWE, adding yet another powerhouse to the storied family legacy.
A Family Tradition Continues
Per Fightful Select, Lance signed with WWE this past summer, and while he’s currently out with an injury, the WWE Performance Center is already warming up a spot for him. A recent photo—courtesy of MuscleManMalcolm on X—shows Lance, proudly donning a “We Are NXT” shirt, standing alongside the rising stars at the Performance Center. At 32, Lance arrives with an impressive 14 years of experience under his belt, from Pro Wrestling NOAH to Major League Wrestling (MLW), not to mention earlier appearances in WWE itself.
Lance’s Journey from MLW to WWE
Lance, who first appeared in WWE rings back in 2014, is no stranger to the big leagues. He’s clashed with the formidable Ascension on WWE SmackDown, taken on The Authors of Pain in NXT, and even battled Shane McMahon on WWE Raw in 2019. More recently, Lance made waves in MLW as one-half of the MLW Tag Team Champions alongside Juicy Finau. Their reign was impressive until it was brought to an end in July 2023 by AKIRA and Rickey Shane Page.
In October, Lance confirmed he’d been granted his release from MLW, effectively paving his way to WWE. Although fans may have to wait a bit due to his injury, his arrival is bound to add even more firepower to the already star-studded Anoa’i family legacy.
The Countdown Begins
While there’s no official word on when Lance will be back in the ring, WWE fans are keeping an eager eye on his recovery and potential debut on NXT. And given the impact of past Anoa’i stars, it’s safe to say expectations are sky-high. As Lance gets ready to carry on his family’s legacy, fans can’t wait to see what this new Samoan powerhouse brings to WWE.
