Becky Lynch may have been out of the WWE spotlight since May, but rumor mills have been working overtime, with recent speculation claiming she sought a $2 million contract extension from WWE—an offer the promotion supposedly balked at. However, WWE insiders swiftly set the record straight, making it clear that Lynch’s hiatus was on amicable terms and that the numbers circulating were way off.

According to Fightful Select, WWE insiders refuted former WWE personality Jonathan Coachman’s claim that Lynch requested the hefty $2 million-a-year price tag. In fact, those close to the company suggest that figure is more like a “Becky Bargain” considering the pay increases across WWE and AEW in recent years. So, if and when Lynch steps back into the ring, expect a figure significantly higher than the rumored price.

WWE reportedly respects Lynch’s decision to take time off, and they remain open to future collaborations with her. Sources say that if Lynch had wanted a new contract before taking her break, the ink would already be dry. Currently a free agent, Lynch is focused on non-wrestling projects, but both she and WWE insiders believe it’s only a matter of time before “The Man” makes her way back—just under the right terms.
