Yes, while Zack Sabre Jr. basked in his hard-won IWGP World Heavyweight Championship victory over Shingo Takagi, Ricochet swooped in like the best-dressed vigilante in wrestling, making his first NJPW appearance since 2017 and challenging Sabre for a match at January’s Wrestle Dynasty.
After the event, Ricochet took to social media to explain his unconventional attire and his unexpected ambush, saying, “Had to remind the world that I’m still the f***ing man around here.” Translation: Suit or not, Ricochet’s out to prove that he’s still got the fire—and the audacity—to shake things up.
But Ricochet wasn’t the only one with his eye on Sabre’s belt. Shota Umino had already laid down a title challenge just moments before Ricochet’s assault.
