Where, oh where, has our Scottish Psychopath gone? Drew McIntyre has been conspicuously missing from WWE TV since his high-stakes, high-bruise-count Hell in a Cell match with CM Punk at WWE Bad Blood. It turns out, this isn’t just a vacation: McIntyre took a hit in the ring that left him with a real-life head laceration—requiring staples—and, like any sensible person with a literal hole in their head, he’s decided to lay low for a bit.

According to Fightful Select, McIntyre isn’t just hiding out with ice packs. He’s been spending quality time across the pond with family, a much-needed comfort following the recent passing of his aunt. McIntyre’s brother, John Galloway, honored their aunt in a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), and McIntyre, who famously named his WWE sword “Angela” after his late mother, surely felt this loss deeply.

But it’s not all somber. McIntyre has had quite a year, both as a brawler and a budding movie star. While his WWE year might’ve included heartbreak in the ring (like losing the World Heavyweight Championship faster than you can say “cash-in”), he did make his Hollywood debut alongside Dave Bautista in The Killer’s Game this past September. Apparently, getting knocked around by CM Punk wasn’t enough punishment, so he opted for some big-screen bruising, too.

As for what’s next, WWE fans can only speculate. Will McIntyre return with a vengeance? Maybe with a steel-reinforced head? Or will he bring his new Hollywood swagger to the squared circle? Whatever he does, one thing’s for sure: when the Scottish Psychopath returns, CM Punk better be ready.

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
