When it comes to The Rock making a splash on WWE Raw’s Netflix debut or headlining WrestleMania 41, fans might want to temper their expectations. Despite a frenzy of speculation, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson isn’t confirmed for either event as of now. Although he hasn’t ruled out a return, his recent comment to fans—“Don’t believe any of that bulls***”—has kept everyone guessing.
While there’s buzz around Rock facing off with “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship, no official plans have surfaced. Dave Meltzer speculates that if Rock does make a WrestleMania appearance, it could potentially set up a massive three-way match with Rhodes and Roman Reigns. The wrestling megastar already stunned fans with his cameo at WWE Bad Blood in September, where he shared a tense stare-down with both Reigns and Rhodes after they fought off Bloodline members Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.
Meltzer also hinted that WWE has confirmed negotiations with mainstream celebrities for Raw’s Netflix premiere on January 6, although Rock’s name isn’t officially in the mix. With WrestleMania season drawing near, fans are holding out hope that “The People’s Champ” might have one last main event in store.
