Folks, it’s happening. The biggest, most tremendous, dare I say, dreamiest event of the year is on the horizon—WrestleDream—and Tony Khan just dropped a bombshell. Like a chef who adds one extra scoop of caviar, he’s spicing things up with a three-way match for the AEW International Championship. And let me tell you, it’s going to be huge. The kind of huge that you only see once in a lifetime, like a solar eclipse or a tax break that helps the little guy.

Now, this all went down on the Fifth Anniversary Edition of AEW Dynamite—an anniversary so big, it probably deserves a parade. A title match between Will Ospreay and Ricochet kicked off the night, and oh boy, did the sparks fly. These guys, folks, they’ve got more chemistry than a high school science lab, and their match was pure fireworks. But then, in classic wrestling fashion, both men simultaneously pinned each other in a double-pin situation. That’s right, folks—two bodies, one count, and absolute chaos. Referee Rick Knox, who has never met a rule he didn’t want to bend, counted them both down, leaving the crowd confused, intrigued, and possibly questioning reality.

Now, here’s where it gets good. Instead of restarting the match like any normal promotion, Tony Khan did what all great leaders do—he let things spiral out of control. Konosuke Takeshita, who was presumably lurking in the shadows like some kind of anime villain, stormed the ring and laid both men out. Boom, down they went like a couple of Black Friday shoppers caught in a price-war melee. Takeshita then hoisted the AEW International Championship above his head as if to say, “This is mine now, suckers.”

And folks, just like that, Tony Khan, never one to shy away from giving the people more bang for their buck, announced a three-way match for WrestleDream. It’s going to be Will Ospreay defending his title against both Ricochet and Takeshita, and I can assure you, it will be the most tremendous three-way you’ve ever seen. Forget about your little love triangles; this is where the real action happens.

But let’s talk about the players here. Will Ospreay—a man whose flips are so high-flying, NASA should honestly be studying him—has been nothing short of a sensation since he joined AEW. However, Takeshita, jealous of Ospreay’s meteoric rise (and possibly his hair), has had enough of being the bridesmaid and never the bride. Meanwhile, Ricochet—still undefeated in AEW and as slick as they come—has a point to prove. He’s got wins over big names like Kyle Fletcher, Sammy Guevara, and some monster named The Beast Mortos, who sounds like the kind of guy who drinks protein shakes made of raw steak.

So mark your calendars, folks. October 12 at the Tacoma Dome. It’s going to be monumental. You’ve got a three-way, international incident of a match coming your way. As always, you’re welcome.
