Folks, WrestleDream is almost here, and let me tell you, it’s shaping up to be one of the most tremendous wrestling spectacles of all time. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, AEW Dynamite’s 5-year anniversary show gave us two MASSIVE new matches that will absolutely blow the roof off the Tacoma Dome. So buckle up, because this is going to be huge, believe me.

First up, we have Chris Jericho, a man so legendary, they should probably start putting his name on buildings. But last night, Jericho decided to crank up the drama to soap opera levels when he got up close and personal with ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe. Now, folks, you know Jericho—he’s never met a boundary he wouldn’t cross, but this time he went straight for the heart. Jericho invoked the memory of Mark’s late brother Jay Briscoe, claiming that Mark would always be living in his shadow. That’s right—Jericho went there, folks. And what happened next? Well, Mark wasn’t about to let that slide. He slapped Jericho harder than the IRS hits during tax season and accepted his challenge. So, it’s official: Jericho vs. Briscoe for the ROH World Championship at WrestleDream! And believe me, folks, this one’s going to get real personal, real fast.

But wait, there’s more! Darby Allin—AEW’s resident daredevil and Washington state’s favorite son—refuses to sit on the sidelines at a PPV in his own backyard. Even though he recently lost his chance to face Bryan Danielson (thanks, Jon Moxley), Darby isn’t licking his wounds. Instead, he’s doing what all great champions do: throwing down an open challenge at WrestleDream. That’s right, folks, Darby’s looking for a fight, and he doesn’t care who answers the call. The man’s practically daring the AEW roster to try and make a name off him—anyone can step up to face him. This is the kind of bravery, no, the kind of recklessness that only a man from the Pacific Northwest could possess. It’s either going to be a major victory or a catastrophic disaster. Either way, it’s must-see TV.

Darby’s been on a roller coaster lately. He had his shot at the AEW World Championship and came this close, but lost that golden ticket at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam in Queens, New York. Now, he’s out to prove that he’s still the guy to beat, whether you’re a hometown hero or a championship contender.

So mark your calendars, people—October 12, Tacoma Dome. It’s going to be Chris Jericho vs. Mark Briscoe for the ROH World Championship in a match where emotions will run high, and Darby Allin facing off against… well, who knows? It could be anyone, but whoever it is better be ready, because Darby’s not playing around.
