Well, folks, if you thought WWE NXT’s debut on The CW couldn’t get any better, CM Punk decided to turn things up a notch with a hometown surprise: pizza! That’s right, after officiating the main event between Trick Williams and Ethan Page—where Williams reclaimed his NXT Championship—Punk took it upon himself to hand out Chicago’s finest delicacy: Lou Malnati’s pizza. Forget victory speeches—this is how you celebrate a championship win in the Windy City!

The crowd at the Allstate Arena got more than just a wrestling spectacle. After the cameras stopped rolling, Punk joined Williams in his post-match celebration, waving his hands like Oprah, but instead of cars, he was shouting, “Pizza for everybody!” And let’s be honest, what’s better than watching Trick Williams become a two-time NXT Champion? Free pizza from CM Punk—arguably Chicago’s true hometown hero.

In case you missed it, Ethan Page’s NXT Championship reign ended at 86 days, and Trick Williams now holds the title again, thanks to a Trick Shot that hit harder than Page’s pizza craving. Shawn Michaels, channeling his inner fashionista, unveiled the brand-new NXT title designs earlier in the night, making Williams’ victory that much sweeter—and shinier. The belt wasn’t the only thing sparkling by the end of the night—Punk’s pizza generosity had the Chicago faithful glowing too.

And while Punk might have been handing out slices last night, he’s gearing up for something much less tasty: a Hell in a Cell showdown against Drew McIntyre in just four days at Bad Blood. If you think pizza in Chicago was intense, wait until those two step into the cell. But for now, the Windy City can sleep easy, full of pizza and Punk pride.
