Folks, the man, the myth, the salt of the earth himself, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, aka MJF, is heading back to Hollywood, and this time, he’s stepping into some seriously funny shoes. According to a report from Deadline, MJF has officially landed a role in Happy Gilmore 2, the highly anticipated sequel to Adam Sandler’s beloved 1996 comedy. Yes, you heard that right—Happy Gilmore is back, and somehow MJF is about to mix his wrestling charisma with some golf hijinks. This is big, folks!

Now, while the details of MJF’s role are still under wraps (because let’s be real, when isn’t there a little mystery with this guy?), what we do know is that this sequel is already shaping up to be a star-studded affair. Alongside Adam Sandler, music sensation Bad Bunny is in the cast. Yes, the same Bad Bunny who’s taken a few bumps in WWE, including a wild street fight against Damian Priest. And if that’s not enough, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is rumored to make an appearance too. Is this a comedy film or the world’s strangest crossover event?

This isn’t MJF’s first rodeo in the acting world either. Following his film debut in A24’s wrestling drama The Iron Claw—where he played Larry Von Erich—MJF has been making moves. He recently wrapped filming an indie comedy titled The Floaters with Seth Green and shot another feature, Stranglehold, alongside Ron Perlman. The guy’s Hollywood resume is growing faster than his AEW win-loss record.

As for his wrestling career? MJF hasn’t been seen in the AEW ring since All Out, where he went toe-to-toe with Daniel Garcia in a brutal match. After taking a second rope piledriver from Garcia, MJF was seemingly written off TV. The exact reasons for his time off haven’t been revealed yet, but one thing’s for sure—MJF’s time in the spotlight is far from over.

Get ready for more snark, more laughs, and probably more epic promos, but this time, on the golf course!

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
