Folks, this December, WWE is bringing the past right back into your living room! According to WrestleVotes and the ever-reliable Dave Meltzer, WWE is gearing up to announce a new primetime special on NBC—and hold onto your championship belts—it’s none other than the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event! Yes, the iconic show that brought us Hulkamania, the Mega Powers, and some of the wildest Steel Cage matches in history is making a comeback for the first time since 2008.

Now, you might be asking, “Why now?” Well, this comeback was reportedly part of the deal when WWE brought SmackDown back to the USA Network, as its current FOX deal edges closer to the end. A little nostalgia, a sprinkle of primetime drama, and boom—NBC’s got itself a guaranteed ratings suplex.

Saturday Night’s Main Event was the must-see TV event of the late ’80s. It was where legends were born, titles were fought over, and moments like Demolition losing the tag titles played out for millions to see. Fast-forward to the mid-2000s, the show got a brief reboot, airing five times between 2006 and 2008 before being benched once again. But now, with WWE’s programming expanding to every network and streaming platform short of a wristwatch, it’s time to dust off the classic event name and bring back the magic!

We don’t have a date or location yet, but you can bet when it’s announced, wrestling fans will mark their calendars faster than a surprise Money in the Bank cash-in.

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
