Well, folks, looks like Willow Nightingale is swapping street fights for lucha legends as she’s about to step into the fiesta of the year at the CMLL 91st Anniversary Show! After losing her AEW TBS Championship to Mercedes Mone, Nightingale didn’t miss a beat, snatching up the vacant CMLL World Women’s Title back in July. But now, it’s time for her to finally put that shiny belt on the line—and what better place than Arena Mexico?

On last night’s episode of CMLL Informa, it was confirmed that Nightingale would be heading to the biggest party south of the border, defending her CMLL World Women’s Title against CMLL star Zeuxis. This marks her first title defense in Mexico, and it’s shaping up to be one for the ages!

Willow isn’t alone in representing AEW at the gran fiesta. Joining her are fellow AEW stars:

  • Chris Jericho, set to square off with the legendary Mistico
  • Rocky Romero and Orange Cassidy, who’ll be teaming with Satoshi Kojima against Atlantis Jr., Ultimo Guerrero, and Volador Jr.

This will be Nightingale’s second appearance in CMLL, having previously teamed up with La Catalina and Tessa Blanchard to take down Zeuxis and her squad at Homenaje a Dos Leyendas in March. Now, Zeuxis—who has held multiple CMLL championships—is looking to add the World Women’s Title to her collection.

But before Nightingale can pack her bags for Mexico, she’s got one last hurdle to jump over—her not-so-friendly frenemy, Kris Statlander. The two former besties are set to clash in a street fight at AEW All Out this weekend, in what was initially supposed to be a title match until CMLL decided to pull the plug on that sanction. Looks like Willow’s keeping that belt nice and shiny for Mexico instead!

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
