Drew McIntyre, WWE’s resident Scottish powerhouse, isn’t pulling any punches—verbally or physically—when it comes to his bitter rivalry with CM Punk. The two have been at each other’s throats since Punk’s much-anticipated return at Survivor Series 2023, with McIntyre dishing out as much punishment as he’s been receiving. And as their feud escalates, it’s clear neither man is willing to back down.
The latest chapter in this heated saga unfolded on WWE Raw, where Punk, ever the opportunist, ambushed McIntyre from behind in the lead-up to their strap match at this weekend’s Bash in Berlin. But McIntyre, with the cool confidence of a 6’5”, 280-pound “handsome monster,” is unfazed. In an exclusive chat with Wrestling Inc. during the press tour for his debut movie, The Killer’s Game—where he shares the screen with none other than Dave Bautista—McIntyre made it clear that Punk’s sneak attack was nothing more than a desperate act of fear.
“I feel fine. I’m invincible. I’m in my prime,” McIntyre declared, flexing both his muscles and his ego. “CM Punk is a fragile nostalgia act that is about to get whipped into dust on Saturday.”
Punk’s attempt to get the upper hand on Raw only solidified McIntyre’s resolve. “I’d be scared of me too,” McIntyre said, noting that once they’re strapped together in Berlin, there will be no escape for Punk. “When I finally deliver that first blow, he’s going to beg for mercy and I’m not going to stop… I’m going to keep going with the Passion of the Punk and I’m not going to stop until he stops moving.”
The Scottish warrior even predicted that his eventual victory would lead to Punk’s retirement—an outcome McIntyre is all too happy to facilitate. And as if to put a final nail in Punk’s proverbial coffin, McIntyre had two simple words to offer his opponent: “You’re f***ed.”
And in case that wasn’t clear enough, McIntyre reiterated: “No, that’s it. He’s fed. He’s genuinely fed.”
To add insult to injury, McIntyre proudly displayed a trophy from his latest encounter with Punk: the bracelet that once adorned the Straight Edge Superstar’s wrist. Whether that bracelet becomes a keepsake or just another reminder of Punk’s impending doom remains to be seen.
