The wrestling world is about to get a whole lot lazier, yet somehow more exciting, as CMLL announced the debut of AEW’s beloved sloth-in-a-suit, Orange Cassidy. The news broke last evening on “CMLL Informa” and quickly spread across social media, confirming that the king of nonchalance will be heading to Mexico to participate in the CMLL 91st Aniversario on September 13.

Cassidy, known for his lackadaisical style and deadly pockets, will be teaming up with fellow AEW star Rocky Romero and New Japan’s Satoshi Kojima. Together, they’ll take on the formidable trio of Ring of Honor TV Champion Atlantis Jr., Volador Jr., and Ultimo Guerrero. While this may be Cassidy’s first match in Mexico, don’t let his casual demeanor fool you—he’s no stranger to lucha libre, having been trained by the legendary Skayde during his time with CHIKARA. That training will come in handy as he steps into the hallowed ring of Arena Mexico.

But the excitement doesn’t stop there. The Aniversario event is shaping up to be an AEW takeover, with Chris Jericho also slated to make his grand return to Arena Mexico for the first time since the 1990s. He’ll be squaring off against the iconic Mistico, adding another layer of star power to the already stacked card. And while it remains to be seen if AEW’s Willow Nightingale, the reigning CMLL World Women’s Champion, will make an appearance, the show is already buzzing with anticipation.

As for Will Ospreay, who recently expressed interest in joining the action, he’ll have to wait his turn. For now, the spotlight belongs to the master of minimal effort, Orange Cassidy, who’s about to show the Mexican crowd why sometimes, less is more—especially when it comes with a pair of sunglasses and a thumbs up.
