Ladies and gentlemen, hold onto your wrestling tights! The wrestling world’s favorite comeback kid, CM Punk, is back and ready to rumble. After a dramatic return to WWE in November 2023 and a triceps injury that benched him almost immediately, Punk is now healed up and gearing for a colossal clash with Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam in Cleveland, Ohio, this Saturday.

In an exclusive WWE YouTube video, Punk was seen running the ropes in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he reminisced about his early wrestling days. “Started wrestling here 24 years ago,” Punk chuckled while taping his wrists, assuring fans that both his arms are in fighting shape. “This is just a little shake-out before SummerSlam.”

But it wouldn’t be a CM Punk promo without some verbal jabs. Shifting gears to his SummerSlam opponent, Punk didn’t hold back. “Drew is constantly dumbing himself out of position. Number one contender, champion, he’s just his own worst enemy, constantly dumbing himself out of position … [We’ll] see what kind of dumb sh** Drew does to himself to dumb himself out of position.”

As if this wasn’t enough, Punk also had a nostalgic moment reuniting with WWE Hall of Famer and former Minnesota Governor Jesse “The Body” Ventura. They posed for a photo, blending wrestling history with present-day drama.

The stakes are high for Punk’s return match, especially with Seth “Freakin'” Rollins as the special referee. Rollins has a bone to pick with both Punk and McIntyre, promising an unpredictable and potentially biased showdown. Punk knows the deck might be stacked against him, but that’s never stopped him before.
