Earlier this morning, the wrestling universe was hit with the biggest shock since Hulk Hogan’s mustache change – a photo of AEW boss Tony Khan and WWE’s wayward son Shane McMahon surfaced online. This pixelated piece of evidence confirmed that the two had a pow-wow in Texas over the weekend. Fans are now speculating if this is the dawn of a bromance or just two guys getting their barbecue fix.

But hold onto your wrestling belts, folks, because the plot thickens! The New Japan Strong Women’s and AEW TBS Champion, Mercedes Mone, took to X (the artist formerly known as Twitter) to claim she was the mastermind behind the camera. Yes, according to Mone, it was she who captured this historical (or hysterical) moment.

Was Mone really behind the lens, or is she just enjoying her popcorn while watching the internet explode? It’s hard to say. Mone has been a key player in the “AEW/Shane McMahon” rumor mill lately. After all, she did have a run-in with McMahon at the airport post-AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door event, which only fanned the flames of speculation about McMahon making moves on AEW territory.

However, Mone won’t be pursuing a career in paparazzi just yet. She’s got bigger fish to fry on tonight’s episode of “AEW Dynamite.” The TBS Champion is set to appear with her new tag team partner Kamille, after Kamille made a dramatic entrance last week by clobbering Mone’s nemesis and AEW All In rival, Britt Baker.
