The Judgment Day’s JD McDonagh and Finn Balor might be clinging to their World Tag Team Championship, but they dodged a bullet on “WWE Raw” this week. The Irish duo faced off against the reunited forces of Jey Uso and Sami Zayn, who joined forces after Zayn rescued Uso from a backstage ambush. The match was a nail-biter until the end when Zayn delivered a Helluva Kick to McDonagh and then launched himself over the ropes onto the rest of Judgment Day. A final Uso Splash on McDonagh sealed the victory for the fan-favorite pair.

Zayn and Uso were among WWE’s most beloved tag teams in 2022 and 2023. Zayn, dubbed the “Honorary Uce” for his loyalty to The Bloodline, even won over the initially skeptical Jey during the 2022 men’s WarGames match. When The Bloodline betrayed Zayn, Jey was torn for weeks. They eventually clashed, most notably headlining WrestleMania 39, but later rekindled their friendship after Jey left The Bloodline and became a solo star on “Raw,” reuniting in the 2023 men’s WarGames match against The Judgment Day.

The timing of this reunion is intriguing, as WWE is just under two weeks away from SummerSlam, where former Bloodline leader Roman Reigns is expected to return. WWE seems to be setting up a showdown between Reigns and Solo Sikoa, whose new Bloodline includes Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, and Jacob Fatu. Fans speculate that the original Bloodline might reunite to challenge Sikoa’s faction. Meanwhile, Zayn still has to contend with Bron Breakker, who ambushed him with a Spear post-match, setting the stage for their Intercontinental title bout at SummerSlam.
