Wrestling fans, grab your nachos and get ready for some exciting news from south of the border! Just days after Shawn Michaels, the legendary “WWE NXT” booker, confirmed her signing, former CMLL World Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer made her electrifying WWE debut in none other than Mexico City, Mexico.
This debut was nothing short of spectacular. Vaquer squared off against Isla Dawn, one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, in a match that had fans on the edge of their seats. Early footage of their clash, now making the rounds on X and YouTube, shows Dawn taking an early lead with her powerhouse moves. But, in true Vaquer fashion, the tide turned dramatically. With a hurricanrana and some face-slamming action, Vaquer gained the upper hand and ultimately clinched the victory with a stunning package neckbreaker.
But the action doesn’t stop there! Vaquer is on her way to Monterrey for her second WWE live event, scheduled for later tonight. While we don’t yet know in what capacity she’ll appear, one thing’s for sure – it’s going to be must-see TV.
Originally, Vaquer was set to wrestle at NJPW x CMLL Fantastica Mania on Saturday. However, her WWE signing meant she had to withdraw from several prearranged bookings, including the highly anticipated Fantastica Mania. As a result, she relinquished her CMLL World Women’s and CMLL Women’s Tag Team Championships, the latter of which she held with Zeuxis.
With Vaquer out of the picture, CMLL and NJPW had to shuffle the deck. Lluvia, Vaquer’s scheduled opponent, ended up competing for the now-vacant CMLL World Women’s Championship in a thrilling match against AEW’s Nightingale and NJPW’s Viva Van. The bout ended with Nightingale making history, becoming the first woman to hold championship gold in NJPW, CMLL, and AEW.
Stephanie Vaquer’s WWE journey is just beginning, and if her debut is any indication, we’re in for a wild ride. Stay tuned, wrestling aficionados!
