Wrestling fans, get ready for some exciting developments in the AEW women’s division! The June 29 edition of “AEW Collision” saw the thrilling return of former AEW Women’s World Champion, Riho. After a long hiatus, Riho is back, and she wasted no time in making her presence felt.

During “Collision,” Serena Deeb squared off against local talent Kelly Madan, securing a quick victory. Post-match, Deeb made it clear she was hungry for better competition, aiming to climb the rankings for another shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship. Enter Riho, who made her way to the ring for a tense face-off with Deeb. The two exchanged heated words before Deeb wisely exited the ring to avoid a physical confrontation. The intensity between these two is palpable!

Riho’s absence from AEW dates back to the “Big Business” edition of “AEW Dynamite” in March, where she lost to Willow Nightingale in the main event. That match also saw the AEW debut of Mercedes Moné, who saved Nightingale from an ambush by Julia Hart and Skye Blue. Riho had to step away from AEW due to visa issues, necessitating a return to Japan to sort out her paperwork. Now that her documents are finalized, she’s ready to pick up where she left off.

Riho and Deeb have a storied history. They clashed at Daily’s Place in 2021, with each securing a victory in their two-match series. Riho eliminated Deeb from the AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament in February 2021, but Deeb got her revenge by defeating Riho on the Buy-In portion of that year’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view. This match was significant as it was the first AEW event to take place in front of a sold-out crowd since the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions began to ease.

Now that Riho is back, it looks like she’s ready to settle unfinished business with Deeb. With Forbidden Door 2024 on the horizon, this could be a clash for the ages!
