Ladies and gentlemen, wrestling fans of all stripes, hold onto your luchador masks because Tony Khan is here to drop some truth bombs! On the recent “ROH on HonorClub,” viewers were treated to a colossal clash as Mark Briscoe defended his ROH World Championship against ROH World Television Champion Kyle Fletcher. This champion versus champion showdown was set in motion after Fletcher pinned Briscoe on the June 12 “AEW Dynamite.” With “Death Before Dishonor” on the horizon, fans were left scratching their heads as to why this marquee match wasn’t reserved for the pay-per-view extravaganza.

Enter Tony Khan, AEW and ROH’s own Wizard of Wrestling. During a media call hyping AEW’s Forbidden Door, Khan cleared the air like a pro. The reason behind this head-scratching decision? A cocktail of strategic programming and those pesky scheduling conflicts.

“Kyle’s got a very busy schedule, and I want to get Mark also with his very, very busy schedule,” Khan elaborated, likely juggling a dozen calendars as he spoke. “I thought it would make a lot of sense for them to have this match because it’s a great match for the fans. Both of them are booked all over the world, they’re both great champions… I also want to put good matches on HonorClub, on the show for the fans.”

Translation: sometimes the wrestling gods don’t align, but Khan’s still got a few tricks up his sleeve to keep the fans buzzing.

Kyle Fletcher, ever the jet-setting champion, is not letting the loss get him down. He’s hopping over to Arena Mexico to represent both AEW and ROH at CMLL’s upcoming event on June 28, where he’ll defend his Television Championship against Atlantis Jr. Talk about a globetrotting grappler!

Meanwhile, Mark Briscoe has his sights set on even more gold. He’s gearing up for the six-man ladder match for the AEW TNT Championship at Forbidden Door on June 30. Will he end the weekend with a new belt to polish? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure: the wrestling action is hotter than a summer slam.
