Hold onto your wrestling tights, folks! A blast from the past has resurfaced in the world of wrestling, and this time it’s behind the scenes. Ray Lloyd, famously known as Glacier from his WCW days, has officially joined AEW as a backstage producer and coach.

Fans of “AEW Dynamite” recently spotted Glacier breaking up a brawl between MJF and Rush, sparking speculation about his involvement. Was he just visiting? Was he a hired extra? Turns out, Glacier is indeed “All Elite.”

Fightful Select confirmed that Glacier has been with AEW for several months in a behind-the-scenes capacity. Although the exact start date remains unclear, his official hiring is a recent development. AEW enthusiasts will remember Glacier from his in-ring appearance at the first-ever AEW match, the Casino Battle Royale at Double or Nothing 2019.

Despite his new role, Glacier hasn’t entirely stepped away from the ring. He competed in QT Marshall’s Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling as recently as February 2024. So, while a return to AEW’s ring might be unlikely, it’s not completely off the table.

Glacier’s ties to AEW go back to his initial 2019 appearance. He’s also a coach and co-owner of The Nightmare Factory wrestling school, alongside QT Marshall and the current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Many of AEW’s rising stars, including Anna Jay, Julia Hart, and Lee Johnson, have trained under Glacier. However, the school’s website is currently inactive.

With Glacier’s extensive experience and deep connections within AEW, his presence is sure to be a valuable asset to the promotion. The wrestling world is buzzing with excitement, eager to see how Glacier’s influence will shape the future stars of AEW.
