In a twist faster than a Tazmission, AEW’s grumpy commentator Taz and TNA’s mighty Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace put the kibosh on their Twitter spat. This cyber scuffle began on Tuesday when Grace flaunted her fitness with a photo and cheekily quoted Taz’s iconic catchphrase: “Beat me if you can, survive if I let you.” Not one to let sleeping dogs lie, Taz quipped back with a snarky “Swing and a miss!” and reminded Grace that his catchphrase is a registered trademark, thank you very much.

Despite being roasted by fans for his pettiness, Taz stuck to his guns, insisting he should have been tagged in the post. The virtual beef simmered down when Grace, ever the peacemaker, tweeted that Taz was someone she’d admired for years. Touched by her sincerity, Taz posted a video to explain his side of the story.

“I’ve been burnt before,” Taz explained, sounding like a wrestler with a bruised ego. “People have made money off me and I try to protect all my trademarks. Some fans think it’s petty, but it’s just about safeguarding what you’ve built.”

Though he didn’t know Grace personally, Taz admitted he’s a fan of her work and admitted to overreacting. “I’m a fan of her work, it was just maybe me jumping the gun,” he said. “I’m looking forward to crossing paths with Jordynne. I’m sure we’ll giggle about it and laugh.”

Grace responded graciously, clarifying that her tweet was “100% an homage.” She revealed her inspiration came from a weekend nostalgia binge watching a Taz vs. Bam Bam Bigelow match at the ECW arena.

To cap off her eventful Tuesday, Grace also spilled the tea on why she previously turned down offers from WWE, proving that sometimes it’s good to keep your options as wide open as Taz’s vocabulary.

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
