In the bombshell opening of last night’s “WWE Raw,” Michael Cole revealed that the ever-animated Pat McAfee was MIA, leaving fans bewildered and The Miz stepping in as his temporary chatterbox. Naturally, the rumor mill kicked into high gear with fans speculating McAfee’s absence was due to a wild storyline twist involving the Wyatt Sicks stable. But hold on to your wrestling belts, folks, because McAfee cleared the air with some heart-wrenching real-life news.

“Yesterday was a day that will forever be etched in our family’s memory because my father-in-law passed away unexpectedly after my show ended yesterday in a hospital here in Indianapolis, Indiana,” McAfee shared on “The Pat McAfee Show.” He detailed, “He had been in the hospital battling an infection. On Friday, we were told he would probably be discharged by Sunday. Everything was looking up, and then yesterday, just as the show wrapped, my wife called me urgently saying I needed to get to the hospital because there was an emergency.”

Beyond his lively TV persona on WWE and “The Pat McAfee Show,” McAfee wears many hats, including those of a father and husband. Married to his wife, Samantha, since 2020, they share a daughter, Mackenzie. Recognizing the gravity of the situation with his father-in-law, Bob, McAfee dashed to the hospital post-show to support his family. As for his WWE return? The timeline remains as uncertain as a last-minute match stipulation.
