Former WWE star Matt Cardona, famously known in the ring as Zack Ryder, has thrown out a tantalizing tease about possibly entering the 2025 Royal Rumble. This exciting news comes hot on the heels of WWE’s announcement that Indianapolis will be the host city for the grand event on February 1, 2025.

Ahead of this week’s “WWE Raw,” Cardona, now self-dubbed “The Indy God,” couldn’t resist hinting at his potential return to the WWE ring. With a wink and a nod, he declared it’s high time he came “home.” Adding fuel to the speculation fire, Cardona also informed all indie wrestling promotions to cross him off their February 1st rosters, pretty much solidifying his Royal Rumble appearance.

Since his dramatic WWE exit in 2020, Cardona has been a busy bee, buzzing around various indie promotions and big names like TNA Wrestling and AEW. However, he’s been crystal clear about one thing: Zack Ryder will not be making a WWE comeback. Cardona’s got his eyes on a bigger prize— the WWE Championship. He’s been vocal about his desire to return to WWE and chase that title, despite being let go during the 2020 pandemic. His last tango in the WWE ring was against Bobby Lashley on a March 2020 episode of “WWE Raw.”

Currently a free agent, Cardona made a notable return to TNA Wrestling earlier this year, alongside his partner-in-crime, Steph De Lander.

Stay tuned, wrestling fans— it looks like 2025’s Royal Rumble might get a whole lot more exciting with “The Indy God” in the mix!
