In a stunning plot twist worthy of its own WWE storyline, SmackDown has a new head writer. Out goes Ryan Callahan, the unsung hero behind the epic Bloodline drama, and in steps John Swikata, ready to pen the next chapters of wrestling history.

Sean Ross Sapp of “Fightful Select” dropped the bombshell that Callahan, the mastermind behind many of your favorite blue brand moments, has left WWE. Replacing him is Swikata, a man who has already flexed his creative muscles in the WWE writing room for years. According to an unnamed WWE source, Swikata’s impact on the June 21 show was nothing short of spectacular.

While Callahan’s departure might feel like getting hit with a surprise chair shot, it’s worth noting he’s bounced back before. Fired in 2019, he returned to spin tales on SmackDown, earning praise from Paul Heyman himself.

And let’s not forget the recent exit of Jennifer Pepperman, another veteran of the WWE creative circus, who jumped ship to AEW. Seems like WWE’s writer’s room is starting to resemble a Royal Rumble – you never know who’s going over the top rope next!

Last week’s SmackDown was a thrill ride featuring big names like CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and of course, The Bloodline. We even saw Jacob Fatu join the Samoan squad, making his WWE debut with enough fire to melt the ice in your drink.

Stay tuned, folks. With Swikata holding the pen, SmackDown’s storylines are sure to be more electrifying than The Rock’s eyebrow.

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
