Wrestling fans, buckle up because the drama is hitting new heights! AEW’s Mercedes Mone made a surprise appearance at CMLL’s Fantastica Mania Mexico show, and things got heated fast. With her sights set on NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer, Mone promised fireworks, and boy, did she deliver!

The Confrontation

Ahead of the event, Mone declared she’d be watching Vaquer’s title match closely. True to her word, moments after Vaquer’s victory over La Catalina, Mone stormed into Arena Mexico to make her presence felt. With a mix of Spanish flair and English swagger, Mone congratulated Vaquer but also issued a stark warning.

“Stephanie, como estas? Congratulations on your beautiful title,” Mone said. “You are definitely not the same Stephanie I faced one year ago at New Japan Resurgence. I can see why you call yourself ‘La Primera,’ but at Forbidden Door, I’m going to show you why I’m the CEO, la jefa, because money changes everything!”

The Brawl

Vaquer, unimpressed by Mone’s bravado, fired back, vowing to add Mone’s TBS Championship to her collection. Not one to back down, Mone slapped Vaquer, sparking an all-out brawl that had to be broken up by CMLL officials. The tension between these two is palpable, and it’s clear that their title-for-title match at Forbidden Door will be explosive.

The Stakes

Next week, Mone and Vaquer will clash under the bright lights of the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view in a title-for-title match. For Mone, this is her third defense of the TBS Championship, having previously bested Skye Blue and Zeuxis. Vaquer, the reigning NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion, also holds the CMLL World Women’s Championship and CMLL World Women’s Tag Team Championship, making her a formidable opponent.
