Hold onto your belts, folks! The wrestling world has been rocked by some unexpected news. One half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Austin Theory, has announced he will not be appearing on tonight’s episode of “WWE SmackDown” due to a medical issue. The revelation has fans buzzing and speculating about what this means for the reigning champions.

Just two hours before “SmackDown” was set to air, Theory took to Instagram with a story that showed his face looking like a chipmunk preparing for winter. “Missing SmackDown,” he captioned the video, accompanied by a sad-faced emoji. Theory even opened his mouth to poke at his swollen cheek, showing fans just how serious his condition is.

Grayson Waller, Theory’s tag team partner and the other half of the tag team champions, spilled the beans on his X account, explaining that Theory underwent “pretty serious dental surgery” thanks to the brutal handiwork of #DIY’s Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano. Last week’s episode of “SmackDown” in Glasgow, Scotland, was particularly rough for Theory, and now he’s paying the price.

Waller, ever the opportunist, used this moment to remind everyone of the growing tension between him and Theory. Last week, the “Grayson Waller Effect” segment featured #DIY but conspicuously omitted Theory’s name from the sign. Waller claimed Theory didn’t need him, only to end up in a brawl where Theory had to save his partner from being pummeled by Ciampa. The drama peaked with Theory taking a superkick from Gargano and a running knee from Ciampa, leading to his current swollen state.

As the WWE Universe speculates on Theory’s return, one thing is clear: the tag team champions are in turmoil, and the road ahead is uncertain.
