Folks, we’ve got the inside scoop on Lio Rush’s roller-coaster relationship with All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Fightful Select has revealed that while it’s still hush-hush if Rush has inked a new deal, he’s got some electrifying creative plans in the pipeline. Expect to see him regularly on AEW TV, starting with a high-stakes showdown against Action Andretti on the June 22 edition of “AEW Rampage.” The winner of this bout will qualify for the TNT Championship ladder match at the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 30.

Rush has been quite the globe-trotter, performing for New Japan Pro-Wrestling from late 2022 to most of 2023. His AEW journey began as a surprise entrant in the Casino Battle Royal at Double or Nothing 2021. However, after being signed to a full-time deal, his stint was cut short when his contract expired on Valentine’s Day 2022. After more than two years on the independent scene, Rush made a dramatic return to AEW during the Casino Gauntlet match on the May 29 edition of “AEW Dynamite.” His impressive comeback has already earned him matches against top talents like Roderick Strong.

Rush had previously aired his grievances about his initial AEW run, citing injuries, miscommunication, and bad timing. He was also vocal about Big Swole’s release in 2021, calling out AEW CEO Tony Khan on social media. Despite the rocky past, Rush always left the door open for a return if the right opportunity arose, and it looks like he’s back in the mix with a vengeance!
