The wrestling world has been a dark place for PAC in 2024. Since returning from injury in March, he’s faced a series of setbacks, including a crushing defeat against Kazuchika Okada for the AEW Continental Championship at AEW Dynasty, and ongoing torment from Jay White and the Bang Bang Gang. Their latest triumph was at Double or Nothing, where they defeated PAC and Death Triangle to retain the AEW World Trios Championships, leaving PAC in a deeper funk than usual.

However, a ray of hope pierced the gloom on “AEW Dynamite.” PAC scored a crucial victory over Claudio Castagnoli in the quarterfinals of the Owen Hart Cup Tournament, avenging his loss from ROH Death Before Dishonor last July. In a fiery social media promo after the match, PAC reveled in his win and made a bold proclamation about his intentions for the tournament.

“This tournament is about me,” PAC declared. “It’s not about Shingo (Takagi), it’s not about Bryan Danielson, it’s not about Jeff Jarrett, it’s not about Jay White; this tournament is about ‘The Bastard.’ Now I just pinned one of the very best to ever do this in what, twelve minutes? I’m undeniable, man. Just let me be very clear; I am winning this tournament. And I am going on to claim my Wembley moment. Understand me? Good.”

The path ahead won’t be easy for PAC. His next opponent will be the winner of the Shingo Takagi vs. Bryan Danielson match, both formidable foes. PAC has a history with both competitors, having faced Danielson in ROH years ago, and sharing many battles with Takagi during their time in Dragon Gate.

With a renewed fire and an unshakable determination, PAC seems poised to make this tournament his own, setting his sights on a defining moment at Wembley.
